if i may have the stage for a moment. perhaps you could save your landers or whatever as subassemblies, and provided you have a surface sample from duna(for example) you could tag that lander as the historic duna lander and it could get some red dusty after effects on it (only visible while in the museum)

I remember someone posting pics of having done this at the island airfield. A bunch of landers and capsules parked in the little fenced area, with RTG powered lights around it. Can't remember who posted it now, though.

Edit: Found it. Sorry for forgetting your name, astropapi1.

I read the first part of your comment and was like "Wait, wasn't that me?". :P

It wasn't that hard. I just grabbed my historical stuff, removed stuff like RTGs, emptied their fuel, stuck a metal base to them, and added temporary wheels. Then it was just a matter of hyperediting them to the island, moving them to a good place, and decoupling/recovering the wheels.

It was fun until my sister deleted the save. :(

This has been suggested heaps of times.

On a side note, grats on 3000 posts!

I'm setting up my own in front of the Astronaut Complex! I'll post pictures when it gets more complete, but my method involves emptying a rocket of fuel, slapping on some wheels, and towing it to its spot. It actually looks purty cool, in my opinion.
