Single Launch to Eve and return Challenge

Recommended Posts

Going to make something for this But I am going to use Lack Luster labs parts for the main bits BUT WILL USE STOCK ENGINES to power my craft. To clarify You CAN have a lander land on Eve and then redock back with the mothership provided the lander goes back to Kerban? Or can it be deorbited to crash on eve and the mothership return to Kerban? I have an interesting setup in mind but need to know if the lander is allowed to be separate, if it can does it have to return or can it be ditched.

Also Can you have more than one launch and dock together the mothership in orbit before taking off provided you count the stages form EACH separate launch? If so I can attempt another mothership design I have floating aboot my head.

Yes to the green, and you can return to Kerbin in the lander, or the mother ship. I returned in my lander.

No to the red.

Great! New designs usually means improvements. Nice work.

So, the smaller landing legs are actually good enough for Eve landings now?!

Didn't think of that at all in my designs.

I made some improvemnts to my design as well: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/84643-Eve-Concept-Single-launch-Eve-sea-level-can-lander-and-rover?p=1242321#post1242321

But I'm too lazy to lazy to calculate score, but I should be able to beat the original poster of this thread.

Also, it could be nice if he could take some time and maintain it a little..

Do you get bonus points for completing it with Deadly Re-entry installed?

Having never touched DRE, I have no idea what it does to change the dynamics of the challenge.

Leader board updated. Well, it was jsut changing Morlock's score. :)

I didn't notice this had been bumped back up, I might give this challenge another go now that I did my hit all bodies in career mode.

Really I'm landing on the Girder Segments, the small legs of landing are used as "shock absorbers"
