Overheating Turbo Jet Engines

Recommended Posts

I'm having an issues with overheating. I coming up to an impasse on overheating. I get up to 700 m/s and the engine starts overhearing and I can get to about 1300 m/s before the engine blow up. I have been able to get speeds up to 1500-1700 m/s before and I will suspect it is a bug in one of the mods I have, but I was wondering if there are anybody coming against this? I so, is there a workaround?

I think the problem might be in the Interstellar mod, as it works with waste heat. If the error is will that mod then the bug is with engine not allowing the 'heat' to be vented by the radiator parts.

You are running the Interstellar mod, meaning you need to add precoolers to your engines. This is not a bug. What's happening is you are trying to shove superheated air into an engine that isn't designed for it, you need to cool the air with a precooler before it reaches the engine.

After a long delay....

I'm back to Kerbal. I found the the wiki about upgrade research tech items in the tech tree.

That then leads to the question, which research tech is needed to unlock chillers for the air intakes?
