Share your inspiration

The internet is full of great sci-fi art and beautiful spaceship illustrations - mostly on DeviantArt. But those aren't usually the kind of ships we build in KSP: the more down to earth (if such a qualification applies), realistic NASA-type of stuff. Its easy to find crazy space-opera designs; not so much the hard sci-fi type of stuff that takes into account the real challenges of designing space-worthy vessels.

With that in mind, I ask: what on the web do you use as inspiration for your ship designs and mission planning? My main reference these days is the Beyond Apollo Wired blog, which has a lot of cool stuff about the ambitious space programs that never where:

The only inspiration I've used from the internet is this one. A good reminder that, no matter how much the game is upgraded, the RT-10 will always be useful

Mostly other people's KSP ships. Though the Macbeth Block II resembles a baby version of 2001's Discovery: crew space at the front, nuclear drive at the back, connected by some girderwork.

KSP forums is by far my biggest source of inspiration. Though sometimes I will Google image search a particular real or concept rocket, or sci-fi spaceship if I'm in the mood to make a replica.
