I think I too have an anecdotal positive sign, maybe a premonition? I just cracked a beer open (it is soon 3am here) while reading this thread with mission control sound in the background Go philae!

That does not jive. Not only did they have awesome animations, they are also presenting this landing very well. First pictures have been announced to be expected about two hours in. They are doing great!

photos(of the lander on the ground) are expected in about 1.5h This event is very well planned PR wise...

EDIT: I might be wrong and it might be in 30min time. not sure if the time I read somewhere was in GMT or GMT+1

Youtube is exploding with comments that the lack of pictures must mean it is a hoax and that people are busy Photoshopping as we speak. We not only learn about comets, but also about human stupidity
