So...nothing happens to Jeb if he "accidentally" crashes a rocket into the launchpad, but what happens to poor Kurt if he does so?

What are the punishments Kerbals can get for doing wrong?

Not surprising, Jeb would have been taking a dip in the oceans of Eve right now, had his Eeloo lander not malfunctioned and killed home tiny he Kraken glitch and T-pose him. Bill had to bury his dead body and Bob held the funeral rites

Nothing, Kurt is the one who crashed the rocket into the Mun on the menu screen. He was last seen heading west.

Punishment for abandoning a functional ship is salvage duty (which isn't as bad as you'd think. It's safe it's comfortable, but it's like finding a needle in a desert)
