How to save two crashed kerbals from a probe rover?

Hi,

I think I hit a kerbal BUG... I designed a probe rover which could carry 4 kerbals... all worked fine till they crashed the rover and both were thrown away from it... now none of the kerbals are recognized as greenman nor as probes/parts of it... they are there and cannot be controlled... just there on the Mun... So, my question is...

How to hack the saved game to get them back as Kerbals and not statues with no status for the game? Thanks

Did you check my thread that I posted? It has a variety of fixes based on what problem you have. It's not simply a thread which says "update to 0.23.5.464." There's a specific fix for kerbals who were flung from external command seats, as well as kerbals labeled as debris.

Is that TAC Life Support? Whatever it is, it's an addon that modifies Kerbals. What you have here is very likely a bug with the addon rather than the game. Try to contact the addon developer about it or check in the addons section of the forums to see if anyone else has come across/fixed this bug.

The problem is not TAC! The problem is debris!!!... once they fell from the seats.

Anyway problem is solved, hacked the persistent file removed the sections referring to debris... the two little green men are deem KIA (killed in action).

Unless you've deleted them completely, then they are gone. Otherwise you can reset their idx = 0, and change the word "Debris" to "EVA". Seriously, two lines of code to change.
