Well, Brood XXII of the 13-year Magicicada swarm is upon us here on the bayou. I'm a fireman and yesterday I got called out to a house where the resident thought a gas line had busted due to the noise, but it was just these bugs. True story. Personally, I think they sound like a truck with a bad wheel bearing :). But they're just getting started. In a few days, they'll be utterly deafening, if their last appearance is anything to go by.
