Wierd Bug

When I load up KSP, and go to the VAB or SPH, I can place a first part, but when I Shift+Click to paste a section, I can not add it. Then, the center of lift indicator pops up. If I place any parts, they will not go, and orient themselves at odd angles and do not place. If I try to leave, the button looks as if it has been clicked, but I go into a weird mode where I can mouse over things, but not click them or scroll the screen. Is something corrupted?

If you are trying to copy a part it's ALT+Click, I have no idea what SHIFT+Click does (If anything) also, pictures of the problem would really help here.

What operating system? I'm running Windows.

When I go to the VAB/SPH and shift-click on the parts list, nothing unusual happens. When you Shift-Click on the craft, it selects the whole thing. In either case, you should never have to Shift-Click to pickup or place parts. And like Taki said, you use ALT-Click to copy an existing part (but not to place it).

So I suppose that leads me to the question, are you using any mods? I think some of the editor extensions add hotkeys which toggle various symmetry and angle snap modes.

Shift+click selects the entire craft. Very handy if you can't see your pod, or don't want to scroll up to it.

also, in linux version of this game right shift is the "alt" modifier key
