Could mod and part packs be abandoned in the move from Spaceport to Curse.com?

I know people often really dislike change, that's nothing new, people usually just learn to deal with it and move on. What I'm worried is if there's something that the pack makers need to do in order to ensure that the transfer takes place. And if they don't do this, will the packs be abandoned? I know sometimes a pack gets really popular, even when the creator sort of abandons it. Just to name an example off the top of my head is CardBoardBoxProcessor's stuff. He's admitted that he's going to be continuing his stuff only very sporadically due to real life business, and he's shown no indication that he'll be moving his stuff to Curse. It's packs like his that I worry for, good packs even if they're rarely updated.

The only way to move stuff from Spaceport to Curse is if either the mod creator uploads it there themself, or the license is permissive enough to allow redistribution (although, personally, I see moral issues with that, but do whatever you want I guess). The databases are also incompatible, so there won't be any form of automatic transfer - and there appears to be no plan to maintain a read-only archive of Spaceport. Spaceport itself, however, really has to be shut down as quickly as possible, and should've been months (if not years) ago.

What exactly is your question? If there is some automatic transfer from Spaceport to Curse? I don't think there is.
I'm wondering if the pack maker isn't active anymore, will his pack get left behind when the spaceport shuts down. Because if so I'm guessing there are going to be quite a few packs that are going to vanish on May 30th.

Why, what harm is it causing? It seems a lot more functional than Curse.com... no offense meant to people who do prefer it.

How so? I mean... you don't even need to log in to access the packs. So I'm guessing it's not password fishing that's the cause for concern.

Is it that people could upload packs that have malware in them? Because I always thought the review system could take care of that (if people start noticing you're putting malware through your stuff, they down-vote you to oblivion).

The review system barely affects anything, but that's not even what I'm talking about. The way Spaceport was written leaves holes left and right, as well as in the backend - easily exploitable and putting essentially the entire infrastructure (including the shop) at risk.
