Is there a way to get asteroids in the SPH/VAB?

Hey all, since asteroids are parts, and have fuel flow (though I feel like they shouldn't), is there a mod or way to get them as parts in the SPH/VAB? It would be fun to mess around with them, and also would be good for testing the vehicle I want to make for moving them once I land them on kerbin.

edit /KSP/GameData/NASAmission/Parts/PotatoRoid/part.cfg

On the line "category = none", change none to one of the part categories (Propulsion, Structural, Utility, Science, etc)

If you want to use it in the campaign, you'll also need to change the TechRequired line.

Ah, awesome, I'll take a break from my space tugs and mess around with those.

They shall be in SCIENCE! (because it doesn't have much, and why not, unless that means I can't build off of them, though I think that is just defined on a per part basis right?)

unfortunately this just spawns the same 150,000 ton one, I was hoping to get various sizes and weights, maybe there is a way to influence that somehow? If not I'll just hook them together to get the weight I need I guess.

I'm not sure how the sizing/mass selection is actually done. Just that that part exists. Sorry.

There is/was a tutorial about this. Although I'm not sure it has info about size changing. I think the problem there is that the size is changed in the save file rather than in the part.cfg file. Although you could potentially make separate asteroid parts and rescale them to suit your needs.

The cfg mentions an asteroid module, that may be connected to the spawn mechanics. Presumably said module isn't activated if you've just dropped the part in the VAB.
