Woah... I just cranked KSP up to something like 60 FPS.

I have an i5 760, thought about upgrading to a i7 4770K, but would I see a substantial improvement with a newer i5 K series (i.e. 4670K)? It's not too bad, I start lagging slightly with part numbers in the mid 100s. I'm launching ~300 part ships at laggy but workable fps though. With visual mods. GPU is a 1 GB Geforce 560 TI, starting to show its age but I'm pretty sure it's not the bottleneck.

I have an i5 357ok, and at stock speed it's fine until around 1000 part count ships, then it slows down to mid 30 fps, it's still fluid.

But the chip clocks to 4.7ghz which means anything under 1,200-1,500 part count ships are usually in the 65-100 fps range.

The 4xxx chips are about 10% better clock for clock, than that, so yeah..you would get a decent boost.

W-... Wh-... Wha-... What?! Even with a modified .cfg file, modiied exe file, three 1.8 gHz processors, (I know KSP only works on one) I barely get 20fps with a less than 200 part ship (might be a small exaggeration, but still)

(*Quietly sobs in the corner or my room) :(

I play on a mid-2012 MacBook Pro. I usually have to play with the graphics (effectively) off and with the physics slider at the max delta-t, which may allow me to run in the "green" frame rates when waiting for a maneuver node to come by. If I'm doing anything else, I'm solidly in the yellow. :(

Wouldn't multi-core and 64-bit support solve some of these graphics "issues" people are having? I feel that a lot of my computer's potential is being missed and that I'm getting the short end of the stick concerning a lack of such support.
