External Command Seat weird behavior

Recommended Posts

I´m doing some work on a downloaded vehicle and the External Command Seat is giving me some problems I´ve never encountered before.

I´m adding some tanks and a rocket at the end of the vehicle (don´t pay attention to the crew modules behind), and the seats work fine with every part I add until the aerospike at the end. When I place the aerospike the seat gives me the message: "Seat is obstructed. Cannot board". Pics below, first one without the aerospike and Kerbal on seat, next one with aerospike and message.

Anyone has an idea why this happens? Workarounds?

Hmm, might be a weird collision mesh. Have you tried other engines?

LV-909 gives the same message, Rockomax 48-7s does not, I´m guessing the size of the engine is linked to that but is a really weird behavior.

This happens to me all the time with my Tylo SSTO. Workaround: Go to space center then swap back to vehicle.

Another bug also happens to me all the time: My ships explode after going out of timewarp. Again, the above solution should fix this.

Solved. You, dear Sir, are a genius.
