Ability to turn asteroid search off in tracking station

Recommended Posts

I had my fun with asteroids for some time but now they are more of an annoyance than useful. Kerbin always looks haunted by question marks in zoomed out map view and all those untracked asteroid marks occlude my own ships.

So I suggest it could be possible to turn the asteroid search program off in tracking station and while it is turned off, no new untracked asteroids would appear around Kerbin until I turn it on again.

That would probably be useful.

In the meantime you can hover your mouse at the center top of the map screen, and turn off the visibility of Unknown Objects by clicking off the icon on the dropdown that appears. A similar option is available in the tracking station. Alas, I dont know if the switch setting remains persistent across switching spacecraft, or a reload. I suspect it doesn't.

You're right on both accounts.
