If a rocket flies off unattended in space, can you hear me scream?...

Recommended Posts

I don't know where to put this 'cause I don't know what it is.

Mods. KAC, KER, Chatterer, Enhanced Navball.

I've begun to use the new ARM heavies for station launches and to get to know them while they're still free, but twice now when using ARM rockets, shortly after my gravity turn, the rocket slowly... exits.. stage right. I can pan the camera over there and watch it dwindle into a speck... (Bye bye rocket). I can still control it. It's just gone.

It's a bug, and I believe I've seen it before.

I have no clue what causes it though, so can't help with that.

As a workaround, you should still be able to get it into orbit though the map view. Once you are in orbit, exit to the space center and than come back to the ship usually fixes stuf like this

If you are using the new large decoupler and problems begin after you decouple it, you might try to apply the fix described in this thread:

1) With a text editor (such as notepad) open up the part.cfg file for the TR-38-D. It should be located in KSP\GameData\NASAmission\Parts\Size3Decoupler\part .cfg

2) Find the line that says “PhysicsSignificance = 1†and change it to “PhysicsSignificance = 0â€Â

3) Save the file and restart KSP.

Cool. Thnx all. I guess this should be moderated to Bugs...

Kashua, I had just decoupled the large decoupler. Another spot on post thnx, however I'm too computer dumb to remedy it in the way you suggest, besides I like (hate) random rocket failures in my program. Chalk it up to a muffler belt failure or a Bifurcating induction valve not functioning within acceptable parameters... I mean nobody died and it doesn't happen every time ( just when I really need it not to happen this time).

Edit-I won't mark this answered yet 'cause I'd like to predict that the user below me has worn women's clothing on more than one occasion.
