A series of boat challenges

There are a lot of threads posing challenges for people to conquer with planes and rockets, but what about boats? Here I will post a number of challenges that can only be completed by boats, (sea)planes, rockets and cars are forbidden.

Rules:

1: Most mods are allowed as long as a boat is used to complete the challenge.

2: All challenges are to be completed without the aid of auto pilot systems such as MechJeb.

3: Only one boat is to be used for the challenges, you may use a different boat but the previously earned awards will be wiped from the leaderboard and you will have to start again. Minor improvements may be made and a payload can be added for certain awards.

4:Hyperedit may be used to get into the water but it cannot be used for anything else.

Challenges:

The Blue Riband: Be the fastest to the desert region's beach with a boat. You must start from the KSC Beach.

The Water Speed Record: What it says in the name.

The Emma Maersk Award: Lift the heaviest payload beyond 50m/s, these results will be measured in percentage of the craft's weight. (Note: Aircraft on a carrier qualify as a payload).

More challenges will come as time goes on.

I can move the speed record forward a bit, I don't think it'll carry much though but it could make a reasonable percentage.
