Starwhip
So I was re-reading the book Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, part of the series that contained Eragon (as a few of you might know). But this is not your usual ranting about "Oh, I just hate how he ended the book," or, "Why did you stop the series?!"No.In the last few pages, the character Angela may be observed knitting a BLUE AND WHITE "hat", and later on, when asked what the runes on the bottom of it say, she replies,"Raxacori- Oh, never mind, it wouldn't mean anything to you anyway."And if you call yourself a Doctor Who fan, you might realize something here, like I did. There is a planet, the home planet of the Slitheen, named "Raxicoricofallapatorious". (A mouthful, right?)Anywho, (no pun intended!) did you notice any similarities?Blue and white hat...Half-said planet name...Christopher Paolini!!! GET OVER HERE!! Rainbowtrout
He may be a fan. It is one of my favourite series, but I've never noticed that before.
Streetwind
In all honesty, Angela being a Time Lord (lady?) of sorts makes far more sense than any in-universe explanation attempted for her unbelievable exploits that I've seen to date.I've always expected that there would be a spinoff series featuring Angela as the main character, because the way she is set up in the Inheritance cycle just screams "potential main character" in every language, including the ancient tongue. And I've always been confused why the author did no such thing. If she is a nod to the Doctor Who franchise, of course, that would answer the question why
Aethon
Ahh. I've been reading that series for years and am at this moment savoring, slowly the last 200 pages. I almost read yer post and gave the end away. I wish I could read this thread but I'll probably try to stretch the book out for a month or so.I saw you wrote about Angela and I slammed on the breaks. I'm on page 678 but I've thought for a while that she's some sort of Deity. I'll book mark this thread and have something to say later.Edit- Does this thread contain spoilers?? I'd really like to play!
Streetwind
Edit- Does this thread contain spoilers?? I'd really like to play!It contains what might possibly be a very unexpected and obscure pop culture reference, but no actual plot points. Unless you consider it a spoiler to know that Angela survives the series.

Black_Opal
It's Melody Pond, not River Song! YOU SHOILD KNOW! And, anyways, I don't think she is, because Melody used up all her regenerations on The Doctor.
