Kethane refinery mistake...Depressed.

Recommended Posts

I made a kethane refinery...But it has no fuel ducts. I didn't add them because I thought if the fuel tank was connected directly to the craft,it would work. But now I got my refinery all the way to Duna and it won't fillup my tanks.

Is there any file I can edit or anything I can do to make it work?

I even heard the KAS fuel pipes dont work with the kethane converte.r

EDIT: I fiddled with hyperedit some more and it worked. Thanks Neal.

Just load the ship back up in the VAB(you saved it, riiiiiiggghtt???), add fuel lines, and hyperedit into the orbit of your stricken ship and remove the old one.

There are ways to edit the ship in-situ but they aren't as elegant.

The 2 people above. Can u read this? And KAS doesn't allow the attachment of stock ones.

Also Neal, HyperEdit is extremely buggy for me, I tried it.

Hmm, just did a little test, but KAS works fine. However, you shouldn't attach the nozzle used for linking to the convertor, but to the tank(s).

Here's an image of my prototype Kethane Harvester on Mun waiting for the daylight cycle to start. ;-)

Note the KAS nozzle in the center of the image attached to the Kethane tank on top of the converter. Also note that after you've connected the nozzles by a Kerbonaut you have to focus on the craft to be able to right click on the tank(s) for transferring products.

Greets,

Jan

If I used that design, it would force me to spent a ridiculous amount of time transferring fuel, and also causing balance issues.

With my current design I can't fit a fuel fuel tank on the center fuselage anyways.
