Is it possible to control more than one craft without switching?

Mechjeb can control a non-active craft if you're within physics distance. That's going to be nigh-on impossible during launch though.

Why do you need to be able to do this? If you just want to launch three craft into the same place then stack them onto the same launcher.

I have three craft landed on minmus that are in close proximity and would like to control all three at once as I think it would look cooler than launching one after the other to return to Kerbin.

An experiment in separate control. 19 separately controllable probes.

On the pad;

Launch

Staging which had to be done in steps or it would fail to separate properly.

Due to the staging process that could cause temporary flight control issues, the flight path wasn't always together.

Only one ship at a time can be controlled. The rest are under control of the probe can and the external forces that knocked them off course.

Well, your spacecraft don't need constant control so you could launch one, then the other, then the third and then keep them in the physics range. The engines will stay on, SAS will remain on, the only thing is that the steering has to be gentle. I haven't launched any spacecraft like that, but I've done a double re-entry on RSS. I imagine that's a bit more difficult, because aerodynamics just does make things difficult.

The only issue with multiple reentry is that the game will delete anything that is over 2.5K away from the craft under your control once they drop below a given distance in the atmosphere. Otherwise, recovery of boosters via parachute or other automated means during the launch to orbit would be easy to acomplish.
