Foldable wings

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to make a small deployable foldable aircraft. I want small wings that I can fold, and I tried doing this with the infernal robotics mod, but the wings become really unstable when flying or deployed. I also tried D12 mod, which has some really nice parts, but the foldable wings are just too big for a one seater aircraft. Any ideas?

I had some luck with IR and wings using good old quantum struts to lock them in place. You need the power to support them though.

Edit: this thread has special robotic struts that connect and break on actiongroup. That's probably the more modern approach to reinforce moving things. Haven't tried those yet though, so can't comment on their value.

Thanks a lot for that mod. Although I think the robotic struts only disconnect, I don't think they reconnect. I'm trying to get the quantum struts to work, but I cannot find the part when I install the mod. Anyways, the robotic mods with the struts does work very well for the foldable wings. They are more stable, but still need some struts

The quantum struts look like stock linear RCS thrusters, they are in the utility tab. There are 2 versions, the quantum strut and the strut gun. They do the same, only display different effects when activated.
