Auto backup save file when missing some parts

Recommended Posts

Sometimes we will accidentally delete some parts.

But when we found out the mistake by the game pop up warning, it is to late to correct it, because KSP has already delete the craft that include the missing parts.

If we don't make a backup first, it will become a desperate situation because of losing some progress.

I suggest when the program found out the in flight craft include some missing parts, program should make a backup file first, then delete the craft.

I believe the craft is still in the persistent.sfs and stays there until the game is saved. Since you're notified right at the start, you can exit, reinstall the missing parts, start back up again and the vessel will still be there.

At least, I think so.

nope, it will automatically delete:(

It doesn't save when you get to the spacecenter. But it does save if you go back to the mainmenu.

Closing KSP immediately (alt+F4, the close button in windowed mode, or alt+Tab out and close) after getting the deleted parts message is one way to avoid losing your flights.

Or you can download the backup generator from my signature. The latest version of Module Manager also creates backup saves when missing parts are detected.
