What kind of force is so weird?

Recommended Posts

I was playing KSP yesterday, and i modified some parts so i can have a Jebediah-sized space shuttle. I launched, flew a while then i realized that i was constantly accelerating, so i reverted the flight and recorded. Here the video:

What's the cause of this? Kraken? SAS? RCS? FAR?

Looks like an infiniglide glitch to me. But, I see you have FAR installed. Is it a recent version? I still got infiniglide glitches in an old version of FAR (via a bug), though that was fixed in a more recent version, I think.

Yeah. Basically, the control surfaces and wings apply thrust to simulate lift. Control surfaces and canards can exploit this, intentionally or unintentionally, to create phantom forces. They can be as subtle as a craft that never seems to want to slow down for landing, or as blatant as a canard or winglet getting thrown off a crashed plane, accelerating to 2 kilometers per second, and leaving the atmosphere entirely.

Edit: Although if that is using FAR, my congratulations. FAR is supposed to fix most of that.

I'm using a old version, on the new one i can't see the lift/drag of the parts and sometimes the dynamic pressure is so large that when a shuttle/SSTO reenters the atmosphere the wings detaches and fly away...

Ok you can turn on the L/D readings on parts in the FAR menu in options menu for FAR.

And the dynamic pressure issue is becuase you are coming in WAY to fast and your wings are not securely attached. Try strutting them a bit more.
