Jet and ion manned orbiter

Fuel tank has about 27 liquid fuel and no oxidizer at lift-off. 12 intakes.

Standard to-orbit profile to 100Km - Mechjeb will fly it most of the way if you like. Make sure the top of the lift is in sunlight.

Jet thrust drops to zero at about 55Km. Throw away the lower section and cruise out of the atmosphere. Extend the panels and engage the ion engines to circularize - takes about 5 mins of thrust. Will leave enough Xenon from the single tank for a de-orbit burn. Blow the ion engines and drift to a rough landing that an octagonal strut on the bottom of the capsule will help with.

Just a simple no-rocket orbiter.
