Life Support Mod?

So which one is more realistic ?

ECLSS maintains its tracking of life support use when the ship is not the active vessel. TAC does not. TAC requires food and water along with oxygen, ECLSS only requires Oxygen.

Both are good, both are realistic with the right cfg edits, found in the Realism Overhaul thread. It is a matter of preference.

I prefer TAC. It has six resources, three required and three wastes. The recycling is done pretty well there, although it could be better. Each resource has its own challenges (water is heavy, oxygen can't wait, food can't be recycled). ECLSS has only one resource afaik and that's oxygen. No food, no water, just oxygen (and the waste product, CO2). I would wager that TAC is more realistic, but I haven't really tried ECLSS.

One thing that should be said is ECLSS does have a bug when you go on EVA your ship will lose all of it's MonoPropellant and there is around 4 life support mods 2 are like a WIP.

EDIT- WIP just has Lifesupport RESOURCE, MOD is -- IFILS and some1 picked up IronCross which has just 2 RESOURCE

I think IFILifeSupport mod is th best LS to make a game a bit more realistic.

Does it matter, what kind of micromanagement is going aboard? Water, oxygen, CO2, food, waste...

There is an precisely estimated time of life support in every program, so anyway there is a specified time of life support - and the mod doing the same.

Yes, it can be fun to toggle sitches and pushing buttons, watching as carbon dioxide growing or converting, but only if there is nothing to do else on KSP.
