Wondering how you guys move your asteroids. I have my own approach.

I use pushers with detachable control sections, like Umlüx. The biggest I've moved is 500 tons and it handled nicely.

I've also found differential engine thrust can help. If the ship pulls slightly in a certain direction, reduce the thrust limit on the engines on the "outside" of the curve.

I push, and I capture in phases. First I get the rock so it stays in Kerbin's SoI, then adjust it's orbital inclination, then bring it into a circular orbit.

as i always get problems with "frozen ships" "exploding ships" "no more moving ships" and so on with the claw bug i stopped using the claw and therefor asteroids all together till it is fixed :( My save with 3 asteroids put together in Kerbin orbit for a space station waits for the bug fix :D

I've had this too, and I won't be moving any big rocks (D's & E's) until it gets fixed.

This was my experience too. I didn`t have a single time where I went to a roid, hooked it then changed orbit without some bug making the whole job worthless.

I now don`t use roids at all.

I've managed to land one asteroid of each class at KSP base. Not sure of the tonnage of each one. However, Since my ship build was a bit unorthodox, they usually crash when I tried to land, but still had my asteroids sitting around just chillen.. lol .. I Do have to say there is a Danger in ejecting an asteroid over the KSP pad when your trying to land one.. If you eject the asteroid, and it has a piece connected to it which is considered to be "debris" It will unload (If you've reached your max debris count) at 2.5k just as all space debris does and TAKE YOUR ASTEROID WITH IT!.. lol.. "Now, I know I dropped that giant asteroid around here somewhere...hmm"
