Help w/ Decoupler Glitch

I'm in the proccess of building a space station, and I needed to attach a probe to my science lab in order to control it, but I planned on decoupling the probe after I docked.

Well, whenever I try and decouple it, the decoupler gets left on the science lab, and blocks its docking port. I've tried right clicking and decoupling, and just hitting the space bar to go to the next stage, and they both have the same outcome. This is procedural parts, btw.

The docking port should have a decouple option, have you tried that?

Yes, decouplers stay on one part/stage or another. If it's meant to stay on the other part turn it over in the VAB/SPH.

Use separators for that, or place decoupler upside down.

There are triangles on the outside of the decouplers. Those tell you which side the decoupler disconnects from. The narrow end points at the side that disconnects.

Also, as was posted, try and see if the docking port's "Decouple" option disconnects it.
