The Most Astounding fact in the Universe

I would suggest you to watch BBC Wonders of the Solar system/ Universe to get an idea, I have to warn you though, that not everyone likes Prof Brain Cox no bull$hiting accent(which I personally liked), and the use of phase like 'billions, and billions, and billions, and billions, and billions......'(which I think is part of his charms)

Too bad that my blu-ray cannot be properly played on my new system. :(

Billions and Billions is Carl Sagan\'s line.

it makes me sad to think that eventually, the cycle will end, and the universe will die.

But doesn\'t it just shrink back to basically nothing then start expanding again? With a nearly identical or completely identical new universe. I don\'t know, I heard that somewhere.

That was one of the hypotheses for the possible future of the universe. New discoveries made it very unlikely. Basically, the universe not only expands but the expansion is accelerating...

Star explodes...

Mass goes into the space not dissapears...

So it could create a new star...

There is anouther thing people have forgotted. The universe is expanding. Even if there was enough hydrogen, eventually, it would be in such low concentrations that stars would no longer be able to form.

Assuming someone (could be Humans) doesn\'t become technologically advanced enough to adapt to those conditions, and improve upon it? The energy and the matter are still there - all you need is a way to once again concentrate it. If there was some form of anti-dark energy that could be developed, we could stop the Universe expanding with enough of the stuff. Reverse it if we wanted to.

Alternatively, move to another dimension.

You don\'t just need \'matter\' for fusion-you need the right kind of matter. Fusion in stars produces progressively heavier elements, and fusing elements heavier than iron results in a loss of energy. \'Concentrating\' energy won\'t work either-you\'ll always waste more energy than you gather.
