Can some science/chemistry geek give me an example of nitric acid & amine powered rockets in the REAL world ??

Sounds Extremely dangerous !!! I know of peroxide and (pressurised) steam used in the WW2 "buzz" bombs.

Yes, HF inhibits RFNA's corrosive effect on some common structural metals. It makes it safer because it won't let the container burst.
