I've always been fascinated with the Spery Ball Turret and decided to make a cockpit. I will be adding RPM screens and other props as I move along with this small project.

IVAs are a pain but in this case I did a neat trick. For the internal spaces you generally make a model of the insides but this is where the trick comes into play. For the external part, I made part's glass transparent and created an internal "model" that is just an empty gameobject that is used as the kerbal seat. Here's the results:

I can't understand why in a cockpit you'd blank out the left/right horizon with the thickest structure, especially since it's showcased on a rover body. It could just be me but I'd want windows where the thick structure half way up is and the structure above and below, it appears to deliberately restrict side vision for no good reason. It looks like the internal viewpoint should be higher, his head well up into the top half of the ball so he looks out of the upper side windows rather than straight at the middle solid structure?

Well it's based off a Sperry Ball Turret, which would rotate around. Maybe in the future we will be able to rotate this around.

It's a WIP and I will fix the visibility when I have time. Rotating I tried tying with IR and it won't work BUT I will make a chassis for the cockpit so it will work. :)
