The oxidizer challenge

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody!

So today I was wondering around on Scott Manley's channel on Youtube:

Skip to 6:45 for the interesting part.

If monopropellant thrusters don't weigh anything, have a giant thrust to mass ratio,

and can reach the speed of light if one activates infinite fuel and has enough thrusters, who can go the fastest in ten seconds?

Rules:

1.) Only command capsules (or whatever you call them) and monopropellant thrusters allowed

2.) You MUST use the infinite fuel hack. No other cheats allowed.

3.) Stock only.

4.) This challenge is seeing who can go the fastest in ten seconds. Use anything to show that you've been flying for ten seconds.

4.) No other rules besides from the rules above.

Begin!

Leaderboards:

1.)

2.)

3.)

4.)

5.)

Hello everybody!

So today I was wondering around on Scott Manley's channel on Youtube:

If oxidizer propulsion does that kind of thing, I challenge YOU to get as far as possible using the oxidizer thrusters.

Rules:

1.) Only Stock parts.

2.) No other rules.

First of all NOTHING in that Scott Manley video has anything to do with "oxidizer", it's all about monopropellant.

Second: In order for this to be a challenge I think there need to be a few more rules. Like what defines 'far'? Is escaping the solar system 'further' than landing and return from Duna? Am I allowed to use infinite fuel like Manley does in much of that video? I think you get the drift. Otherwise it is a cool challenge.

Can we have challenges be subject to mod approval? It seems like a fairly solid percent of them come out like this.

Does this post really belong here? How about we get mods to look at every single post?

On a serious note, please consider contributing to the discussion in a constructive fashion. I realize that there are stickies about the rules... and people should think before they post... but isn't it entirely possible (and human) that this person didn't see the stickied post? It might've been more helpful to direct them to it than just complain.
