The ISS project!

Im going to be creating a ISS sized space station in LKO. It will be the same layout (as close as i can make it anyway) and have similar modules as well. I will be using stuff from the soviet pack, Hex truss and Metal Wasp Industries Solar Panel pack. To build it I will be using the Proton from the soviet pack and the CSS

When complete it will be around 200 parts, which from the size of it isn't that bad

Stuff i will not be using that is on the ISS:

Dextre or any other robotic arm apart from Canadarm2

Nice looking airlock

Nice looking Cupola

Nice looking radiators

Useful Pirs and rassvet modules, Poisk has been replaced with a docking adapter for my X-37 replica

I would use some really nice stuff from FusTek pack but due to ram limits (i can only use 32 bit so the CSS will work (firespitter issues i guess))

I will start as soon as i am done with Mir.

Criticism is welcome XD (i know the solar panels are too long but i cant find any other ones that are the correct size)

For the truss sturcture it wont be exactly the same. I have not included the S/P 5 trusses and instead added a truss between the S0 truss and the radiator truss. This is to add extra room between the main solar panels and the actual station. Just made this:

As you can see i have not followed the same naming as the ISS and just done it in order to make it easier and less confusing

Launch and docking albums

Current update: Creating the Cygnus and maybe dragon , ATV and H-II are now done. Zvezda docked to ISS

I will only upload the first soyuz as there will be to many to upload each one

Zarya launch album: Zarya

Mission summery: Success, put into a circular 125km orbit. Performed a few burns to circularize and zero out inclination

Unity launch (STS-17): Unity

Mission summery: Success, Unity docked with Zarya with no issues, CubeSat 4 was also deployed

Zvezda launch: Zvezda

Z1 Truss launch (STS-19): Z1 (coming soon!)

Soyuz 8: Soyuz (coming soon!)

It looks EXCELLENT! Though I do have a few points:

1. It looks like you made Destiny a bit too short.

2. It seems that you made Node 2 (I'm too bored to look up it's name) too long.

3. You forgot the Z Truss on top of Unity. (The reaction wheels thing).

4. I don't see the external experiments section on Kibo. (Will you make it so you can launch CubeSats from it? Perhaps the KSP Community CubeSat? :P)

5. I don't see any Russian-US docking port adapters.

Made destiny longer and made node 2 shorter, I think i got them confused or something :P

I have added a rather crude Z truss with KAS container (a very big one) and reaction wheels

Added external experiments (looks crap im afraid but i will edit it later) with the mini docking port so i can launch CubeSats!, i will look into the community one

The docking adapters will take some time so i will get back to you on that. If they are too difficult i might leave them out.

I will add launch clamps and take some more pics as soon as i have done it all :)

Oh and i will talk to Romfarer about the robotic arm but its very unlikely. I might make one myself with infernal robotics but iv been having issues with tweak scale not working at all

Im also going to make an ATV and maybe the japanese H-II Transfer Vehicle

Thats Mir, Priorda is yet to be added Its from the soviet pack which also has buran. (though im not using it)

Update: Just added priorda, ISS construction will begin soon

If anyone would like to submit craft i would be happy to accept and use it at the station:

Im looking for a nice Dream chaser like shuttle that can be launched on a rocket mods you can use are infernal robotic if you need it, KAS and a few parts of B9 (Please dont make it all out of B9 stuff though)

Also if someone would like to make a Dragon cargo craft I would be most grateful as i cant really get my falcon 9 to work properly

If your thinking of the same community giveaway that I'm thinking of then it'll be a little bit hard to launch It in ksp cos there thinking of raising money to launch a real one.

so far you've taken a quiet ambitious project! but it worth it! i made a nice replica with stock only parts...i cant remember how many but i made the central parts from fuel tanks for the white look. here's a photo: ylHO4na.jpg

Wow that looks great! Is it completely stock!?

Yeah squad really need to add bigger panels. The ones I used are KSO panels scaled up a lot.

I may do a shuttle mission writing like i did with this

Oh and if anyone wishes to send me a satellite design i can launch from Kibos exposed facility I would be happy too :) You can use the Boxsat mod to make it too

Its been a long time but I have decided to add two more modules, launched by the Shuttle (the same size as zarya) where the Pirs and Poisk modules are. Pirs and poisk will be taken back on the Shuttle on the same mission the new modules arrive.

Edit: After some testing I think I will have to give these module solar panels too. Because the module is one part (from the soviet pack), upgrading these modules will only add FOUR parts to the station!!
