Homeworld 1 & 2 Resell + Remake coming!

It appears that gearbox entertainment is working on a resell of homeworld 1 and 2 alongside a remake!

Share your opinions! I am so going to buy this as I did not play homeworld yet.

What about cataclysm... that was a fun addition to the homeworld series. BTW, I'm geeking out.The homeworld series is one of my top 3 games of all time. I still have my old win98 and xp versions.

This is the developer that made duke nukem forever and aliens: colonial marines; so I wouldn't really get your hopes up.

EDIT: if you haven't heard of those, A:CM was a game so execrable they're genuinely being sued over it, and DNF was equally terrible.

Funny I played and beat both games. I also played DN 3d and the old avp games, anyone who says they were any better needs to get their heads examined.

What its coming back I've spent manmany hours on both H1 & H2 and loved them both

best part of 1 that never made it to 2 was the salvage of enemy craft. I loved going into a multi and steeling an enemy fleet just to use it against them

Best parts of both game enginces was the true 3D aspect of battle, moving unit all around i.e above and below your enemy to leave them with no escape.... except hyper jump which was awesome

Really looking forward to the HD remake although not sure if I want another copy of a game i already have but will most likely get it anyway just to see if they made it better. Here's hoping its nothing like duke nukem forever and aliens: colonial marines etc

Duplicate threads will happen because of the utterly stupid VBulletin search function. I never find what I am looking for. The search does not even put the results with the search keyword in the title at the top.

Here's a tip I use to search forums, because the in-built search functions NEVER work well enough to be worth using.

Use google, go to advanced search and type the site's address in the "restrict to searching within this site" box (that's what it does, not what it's called).

Generally, if you don't find what you're looking for on the first 2 pages, it doesn't exist.

Works 99% of the time, all the time.

Also, didn't Gearbox do Borderlands and Borderlands 2? Those were actually very good games.

Yes, DNF was bad. That's excusable because it was stuck in development for nearly 10 years, and changed hands several times. I'm actually surprised it came out at all, to be honest.

Also, I can find an excuse for A:CM too. It ties in to a movie's IP. We all know how well games based on movies go. Mediocre at the best of times, with an extremely rare few good ones, and 2 that are remembered solely because they are so bad (ET for atari and Superman 64 for the N64).

As for the Homeworld genre, I don't see how they could mess up a re-sell.

Re-makes, OTOH. I'll wait and see.
