how do your turrets work, are you using the Klaw and letting it pivot or is the turret an entirely different ship that just rests on the tank?

No, the KLAW could be a workable concept, however there is simply no way that a claw would fit into such a small tank. Instead it uses a wheel bearing subassembly to rotate. I suggest you check out Majorrim's stock turret bearing.
