@Frozen_Heart:

Running some "simulations" with our ships while I wait for your move.

http://imgur.com/a/LGxpm

No target: Confirmed kill.

3 salvos of 2 Mark II I-Beam rockets. One salvo missed entirely. So 4 MkII's.

I didn't even fire the SRBs!

The lag was real, though.

Yeah, I was gonna say, those ships are really nice looking but they don't seem to be thick enough to hold up against a shot, especially in the center.

In the center, where the core is, so it's super easy to target :/.

EDIT: Holy crap!

Not only is that confirmation of death, look at that velocity!!!

Dem's what you get for an 8-sepatron MkII I-Beam rocket :0.0:

The armour is thick on some places but the core is totally exposed. Easy to target and a single shot will split the ship in half!

I've tested the armour and its effective as it is dual layered but this doesn't matter when you can just go round it. :(

Tempted to redesign but going for full armour coverage will increase part count and lower dV.

When proper mp comes out things will change as my ships high acceleration and dV will play havoc with your weapons!

I could make two versions of each of my ships? A display version and a battle version.

Display version focuses on looks while battle version on armour.

Lol, I get to play the not so fun game of "what needs more armor?" With my drek... It's constant catch up and always raises part count and weight.

Maybe prioritising less armour and more dV could work with the Drek. Move it into a polar orbit after shooting and then back again next turn! On lower gravity planets my ships can completely reverse their orbits multiple times!

Still taking your turn later today, Frozen_Heart?

Also, does your second lightest ship have* to engage my lightest ship, now that your lightest is dead?

*You could choose not to attack, I suppose.

EDIT: Be grateful that I don't have any of my ships armed with these...

New Mark II Driller missile. Salvo of four completely obliterates all ships I've tested them on.

Yeah I'm doing my turn soon :)

And yeah I assume my gunship goes next. Pretty sure you don't miss a turn if your lightest ship is destroyed...

Also I though you could shoot at any ship?

that part count...

2- Each player takes it in turns to engage one target with one ship.

3- Ships engage in order of tonnage, lightest to heaviest. Once all ships are used the cycle repeats.

I thought equal weight categories engaged one another...

If that's not the case then *facepalm*

I should've gone for another target. That capital ship scares the bejesus out of me. (Weapons-wise, not destructibility )

Yesh. The part count alone shall summon the power of the Kraken on all ships!

(Not really, though.)

...

Ideas...

every time I fire at my XIV-XII it won't let me go back to SPH or space center :P can I use this to my advantage?

It's a bug in the game

I get that sometimes too

I thought I was the only on experiencing this bug

its so very annoying when I'm trying to test ships but thankfully it doesn't happen in combat because there is no quick saving

This thing... Holy cow. When you fire it it just goes:

"WIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLEWIGGLE" And it shoots off into the sunset. You see like 30 copies of the Sepatron exhaust scattered everwhere, and then it just goes *poof*. It moves so fast that I couldn't get a screenshot.

Screw a screenshot, have some spam.

That happens to me at times in combat forcing me to read download the game file.

And even if there was quick save it wouldn't work because the bug renders all operations like qs, revert, sc, and all that jazz inoperable.

Basically it forces you to force quit the game and reload from the games last autosave before the bug happened

Starwhip: for this game keep going with these rules. I'll engage your lightest ship first. :)

In future I don't think it works that way though.

It's always, ALWAYS been lightest ship fires at any target, just for the record. If the lightest ship dies the next in line is up.

Well, at least I got the "lightest ship fires first" bit right. No rules broken yet, just bad turn management.
