How do I complete the Milbrett rescue contract?

I have been trying to rescue Milbrett from orbit for a few days now. The contract says I have to get him into a craft and recover the craft. I'm able to get to him in orbit, but I can't get him into the craft. The game won't let me switch to Milbrett to control him, and he's just floating in an EVA suit. I've tried grabbing him in EVA, but it doesn't give me a "grab" option when I bump him. I've tried bringing the crew hatch to him, and even going eva and bumping him back toward the hatch.

Is there something that I'm missing? Should one of these approaches have worked, and I'm just doing it wrong? Any help will be apreciated!

Once you get close to him, switch to him using ] or [. Then you can press R to activate his jetpack and fly him in like normal.

Thanks! That did the trick. I was able to switch to him at around 1km and flying him back was a snap. I landed him after like 2 days in orbit station keeping with him. Thanks!
