  1. 1. What is you favorite astronomical body in KSP?

    • Moho, because who can resist that tan?
    • Eve, the planet that inspired Prince Kermin's Purple Rain
    • Kerbin. We all know you like the ice caps, okay!
    • Duna. Much sand. Very Planet. Wow.
    • Dres. Voted most likely to house the Kraken, its that Dres-pressing..
    • Jool. Flyby anyone?
    • One of Jool's moons.
    • Eeloo.. The final frontier (at least so far)!
    • The Asteroids. Just slap a rocket engine on there and call yourself a space cowboy!
    • There are other planets in KSP? I've never made it off Kerbin!

Read the post I quoted again. :)

Ah yes, I see it now. Heh. "No one". Was too focused on my dislike of Dres to notice, whoops!

Still, my statements on Dres stand. I'd much rather have a small asteroid belt with a proper Ceres and Vesta equivalent in it than Dres. Dres is too heavy-grav to be a big asteroid.. :/

Then we'd have at least two places past Duna to visit, with even lower gravity..

I actually took it seriously. Who could possibly like Dres? Dres sucks!

I'm so biased

IIRC, Dres was a originally a placeholder, meant to eventually be a moon of the fabled Gas Planet 2. Whether that's still in the pipeline or not is tough to say, the dev who developed many of the planets has since departed. I'd agree that Dres seems to be the forgotten middle-child of the Kerbol system.

Let's have some love for the Mun. I luurve the Mun, I luurve craters. I luurve them.

Fun landing? Mun Landing!

Land in a canyon if you dare! Rover in and out of craters! And Biomes! And did I mention craters? Ooh, nearly forgot! CRATERS!

You should poke around there a bit more. I don't know if you've discovered them or not, but the Mun has craters.

The Mun will always have a special place in my heart, what with it being the first landable body added.

I think I've heard something like that too. Wasn't Eeloo also slated to be a mun of another planet as well? Sorta like.. Europa escaped to Saturn or something?

Anyhow, if Dres were a gas giant mun, that would be a bit more interesting.. Minmus is interesting, as it's got those strange, lake-like plains, and is green and low grav and nearby (and now has biomes woo~). Duna is interesting, it has a large mun, an atmosphere, icecaps and is red (I believe the database says something about a 'striking contrast with green'). Eve is all purple with high pressure atmosphere and high gravity and has that captured asteroid-mun where you have to help gravity for landing instead of fighting it... Jool has a big system of Muns and no surface.. Moho is .. well, it's deep in Kerbol's gravity well, so it's at least interesting to navigate there.. once... but Dres is like.. Diet Duna. No atmosphere, no muns, it looks like a big grey/brown rock...

If the #2 gas giant is longer on the plate though, couldn't they at least give it a couple of small muns or something? Phobos/Deimos style?

(making it a binary planet would be even more interesting, but I'm certain that KSP doesn't support that..)

I do really like Minmus. I'm neutral about most other planets - except Laythe for being so hard to land on.

I love Duna, but I also like Jool. Because of this:

I cannot even think of a description for a shot as amazing as this. I hope I haven't deleted that mod that adds rings to Jool.

Wasn't that Eeloo?
