hey guys will this run ksp on high or medium settings.

Intel Core i7 4500U 1.8 GHz with turbo boost 3.0ghz

8 GB DDR3L-1600 MHz

1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive

nVIDIA Geforce GT 840M

15.6-Inch Screen, Windows 8.1

:0 This is a joke, right? You can almost run BF4 on ultra with that......

KSP is a joke for that really.

Welp, given that for any finite amount of processing power there is such a number of parts at which KSP will start to lag, it won't make you immune. But if you keep your ships within sane limits and don't install all of the mods in existence simultaneously (or keep a browser open at the same time ;) ), it's probably never gonna lag or run out of memory.

CPU benchmark comparison:

The newer laptop should run KSP noticeably better and handle somewhat larger ships, assuming the turbo works as it should. Like flashcactus said you might want to keep the rest of your system load down when playing KSP. The new laptop's much better GPU should let you crank up the visual detail in KSP too.
