Cool idea but use a seat instead of ladders and the batteries are just added weight, looks like the apollo lem test craft ejector seat

I made a small return rocket for my kerbals that if I crashed the rocket they could use it to get to orbit and go to my orbital space dock where they could return home it only weighs less then a few tons I think, it's just a better version of you ejector seat

It looks good. Is that a separatron in there? I'm guessing the panel is the root part so it can be added to spacecraft as a subassembly?

I have sort of a safety invention, but not really. It's an escape tower clipped in such a way that it can be decoupled and leave a shielded socking port behind.
