Noone wants to miss this spectacular event and everyone wants to see which Kerbal gets the new champion, the winner of this year's

Welcome everybody,

I'm CallisTrOn and I proudly present you the Kerbal Space Programm Raceleague 2014.

It is an event, in which all of your skills, from all of you are required.

In the first phase, you have to show your designing and construction skills,

whereas in the second phase you will need your best driving and flying skills.

You can take part in the event at any time , so if you are interested you should read the rest of the thread.

Phase 1 - Construction Phase

until 28.09.2014

The KSPRL is divided in individual races. For the beginning I'm searching for up to 12 challenges. The event will take place with at least 6 challenges. This depends on how good the supmitted challenges are.

The aim is, to have very individual and different challenges on a high quality at the end of the construction phase.

To reach that aim, and to ensure that the challenges are entertaining enough and difficult but not frustrating, I will work together with everyone who submitts a challenge.

So in the best case, we have 12 awesome challenges on time.

So here are the

Requirements for Submissions:

1) The challenge has to be kinda awesome and entertaining. It should be something special, what doesn't exist yet. The word "boring" should in no case come in any mind of anyone who is seeing the challenge. So no "drive with a rover around on the KSC" challenges!

2) The challenge has a race character. (Not that this will be planned in future KSPRLs, nooooo.....)

3) The challenge takes place on a selected place. In best case, every challenge is on a different planet or mun or directly in space. Especially "hidden places" and easter eggs are very suitable. You should use hyperedit for that. A list of already choosen places is to find after the requirements.

4) The submission contains the racing vehicle and the environment (track marker, design elements) in one save file. The environment has to be set on its final place and the vehicle has to be at the start of the challenge.

5) The challenge is made of stock parts only and uses no cheats (Alt + F12). Hyperedit is of course allowed and highly recommended.

6) The challenge has to be sent to me as PM, where I will communicate with you about it then. Please do not release it before its date in the event, to keep the competition alive.

Phase 2 - Racing Phase

After the best challenges are chosen, the race phase will begin. The delay is because I am on vacation in early October.

The plan is, to race one challange every weekend, like in some real competitions. Therefor I will release the savefile (and a showcase video?) on friday evening, and close the challenge on sunday night. So everyone has the same amount of time to complete the challenge.

To verify the times, you need to send me screenshots, in which I can see them, or better videos from your best and/or funniest runs. Because I would like to produce a video out of every challenge, where I can compare the best pilots and show the most entertaining scenes and crashes.

The pointing system will be kinda easy. For every participant who is slower than you, you will get 1 point. So if a challenge was too hard and there are less people who finished them you will get less points too.

I will edit this post the whole time, to keep the most important informations up.

Well, you obviously did not understand the intention of this event. Of course I could make some challenges on my own, but not 12 good, individual and different ones. Noone could do that. Creativity of many is always better than creativity of one. And of course I won't call the challenges my own, why should I? Every challange is called with its creator. I just organize the event, and ensure that the final challenges are on a same high quality level.

So maybe I've choosen the wrong words to describe it, but what you read out of it, I didn't want to write.

what was the intention of the event? There's no actual challenge here. It's just a solicitation for challenges with a competitive element.

the intention is to simulate a raceleague, like formula 1. you have a race every weekend in a different place. to get good different race challenges, I need the creativity of many. so it is first a construction competition, and second the racing competition.

but if noone is interested, I can use my time for other things. I just wanted to bring some entertainment.
