Any mods that undo Squad's throttle fix?

The problem with your conspiracy theory is that it's very hard to imagine a scenario in which a BUG puts the throttle at exactly 50%. 0%, or 100% - maybe. But 50% is generally not the sort of behavior you'd get from bugs. Bugs tend to cause edge cases, not middle cases.

Especially since the default throttle was originally 50% in the earlier versions, then it was changed to 0%, and now they decided to use 50% again.

I can confirm beyond any doubt that it is no bug. The code quite literally says "throttle = 50" somewhere.

Better solution for newbies: After installation, when you go to start a new game for the first time, throw in a popup that STRONGLY suggests you play the tutorials, but include a small skip button in the corner for those who don't care(of course also make it a toggle in the settings so you can skip it completely if you're a really old hat and know what you're doing).
