Water Speed Record!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, kerbals of all ages! Step right up and see the spectacle of Jebadiah as he attempts the new water speed record in a game currently lacking fluid dynamics!

The challenge: To, on water, get as fast as possible

Conditions:

-NO MECHJEB

-No part mods apart from Spaceplane plus (As it is integrated into .25)

-The "boat" must remain fully intact

-The "boat" must be able to come to a complete stop after it has reached its top speed

-Mods such as Engineer are fine

-You may use any propulsion system you like

-No submarines - that's just cheating!

-The vehicle MUST CONTAIN CREW

[HARD] FAR champion : Brainiacblue with 284.2m/s

Maybe you should post your own attempt to encourage other people to participate here. I think it's not easy to build a fast water.. rocket.

So - I will get the ball rolling:

This took 4 tries before I was finally able to stop at this speed without it nosediving and killing Jeb. As you can see I managed an incredible 284.2m/s. Beat that Scott and/or Danny!

From a previous challenge: Sped Boat Mark I. All stock.

Tops out around 320 m/s. Not useful for actually going anywhere. All the relevant design features are in the screenshot.

That is certainly an interesting design but it doesn't carry crew. But a seat on the top would do the trick so... post something with a seat on it and I'll give you the stock record. FAR is so much harder - The boat generates lift and likes to bounce around a lot. I really want this to be a Scott Manley challenge. He'd probably end up making a 600m/s thing with FAR enabled and capable of carrying 15 kerbals.

Bumping this for myself. I used to be super into boats, doing a Kerbal Regatta challenge and attempting a boat trip around the world, but I haven't played in a few months and I'm a bit behind in updates. I'll definitely give this one a go. I really want to get back into boating in KSP. :3
