Hi,

this is a set a small, low profile, efficient, quite over-powered/fun oriented engines to make all your crazy contraptions come true.

Javascript is disabled. View full album

This release includes:

LPMJE: a low profile medium size (1.25 m diameter) jet type engine, stats have been mostly took from basic jet engine, with half the IntakeAir needed, thrust set to 60 kN, speed doubled. (thrust may be lowered a bit in a future version)

LPSXE: a low profile small size (0.625m diameter) Xenon propelled engine with a very high ISP and a low energy consumption (you'll dump your ION drive off !). This engine produce 20 kN of thrust and can send a small probe anywhere in space.

LPMEME: a radial attached electro-magnetic engine. It is very light, use a self-generated propellant to simulate an abundant electro-magnetic energy harvested from the body itself, ideally it should work better in high altitude in space, but for now it use atmosphericCurve to do the job, which mean on Kerbin and high density atmosphere, the engine can not really be used on its own at sea level and need some help to climb up (5000m minimum, depending on the total mass and the total thrust of the vessel) and become really useful. Warning: this engine has "virtually" an infinite dV value (MJ or other will not show it, as propellant is generated while running).

LPMEMES: the same as above but stackable as other engine, at the expense of not being a true low-profile engine.

download from kerbal stuff or mediafire (patch 0.3->0.4)

license included in archive.

A further release will include custom sounds and FX, experimentalMotors will also be change to something more accurate.

changelog:

0.1 14/07/2014 early release

0.2 30/07/2014 LPXSE added, LPMJE texture improved with more details, some words here or there added here too

0.3 28/08/2014 MEME & MEMES added

0.4 11/09/2014 fix surface attach nodes of the 3 stackable engines

0.5 12/09/2014 fix experimentalMotors node name

Have fun.

Liked the idea of this, but when I downloaded it, only 2 of the engines showed up in the tech tree. No sign of the LPMEMEs, which is what I really wanted. Anyone else have this problem?
you probably just need to fix the technode in the config, to something like "start" or check a different part for a comparable technode entry.

As written in the readme (no one seems to care reading :( ), the two EM engines use 'experimentalsMotors' (the very end of tech tree). No need for a fix, or play sandbox mode.

Be sure also to have 0.3 version.

costom tech tree? I don't see experimentalsMotors in stock tech nodes

the stupid 10 chars limit doesn't care about non user quoting (moron !) so:

6. Career mode

All prices & costs have been set to a dummy value, change it as you wish. Technology required have been set to match stock parts (when applicable), you can also modify this if you believe it's not good enough.

EM engines are in "experimentalsMotors" node, which mean they are unlocked at the very end of tech three, see this thread http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/53025 for details.

Appreciate the comments, but I'm I'm still not getting it, sorry. I understand they appear right at the ends of the tree, or are supposed to, but I've unlocked the whole tree and no sign...

I can see them in sandbox mode, but how to get them in career too. (Fairly new to this stuff, so apologies if solution seems simple to you, but it's eluding me.)

Tried with 0.23.5, advancedMotors doesn't exists, only advancedAero (the only hidden tech node available). So it looks like to be another stock game issue  and/or bad documenation, or documentation about non implemented feature.

So, I can only encourage you to fill a bug report on Squad issue tracker, while waiting for a fix, you can change tech by whatever you want, as there is no room anyway for such technology.
