KSP (MAC) crash with extern USB Mouse

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys

Ive found a issue with my Gila GX Gaming Mouse.

I play with a Powerbook OSX 10.9.4 and KSP 0.24.2

When i start KSP without the extern Mouse. Everything just works fine.

When i plug in the Mouse, before, while or after booting KSP, the Programm freeze instantly, goes in windowsmode and i see the loading (MAC) ball. I then have to force KSP to stop.

If i disconect the mouse and restart KSP, then it works just fine again. But a window opens just once, asking me something about reopen its windows again and two possibilitys --- Dont reopen --- reopen. If i push reopen, KSP works fine again until i connect the mouse.

I didnt had this problem before 0.24. So i assume that its a bug. Not sure if its OSX or KSP???

Any solution? Im more a PC Gamer, so im bad in troubleshooting things in OSX... My bad... Thanks...

Cheers...

To reemphasize KasperVld's question about the mouse drivers: a KSP crash related to a mouse is probably a driver problem. Make sure you have the most recent Gila GX driver.

If that's not the problem, please follow the guidelines in the Stock Support & Bug Reporting Guide. Here's how to find two of the harder to locate parts on a Mac:

  • Systems specs ( > About this Mac > More info)
  • Player.log (Finder: Go > Go to Folder..., then type: ~/Library/Logs/Unity/)

Also, the popup you're seeing is the standard crash dialog on Macs. It's asking whether you want to Ignore, Report, or Reopen after the crash.

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks guys!

Unfortunately it seems that gila does not support its mouses for MAC. Cant finde drivers for it. But the Mouse, which i normaly use for PC, works just fine with my mac so far.

And it worked before 0.24 as well with KSP. Yea i thought that its may a driver problem. But ther is nothing i can do about. But strange enough is that its a new issue. So may the issue culd be adressed to KSP? I go for bug report... Thanks anyway

I'm afraid I'm really going to have to blame this on the mouse, especially given the fact that there are no official drivers for MAC. I can't tell you why it conflicts though, it's definitely weird. The KSP logs show nothing related to an error or crash which indicates to me that the crash doesn't happen within KSP but rather in the OS.

Did you try just using the USB-HID drivers, instead of the specialty drivers.

The drivers that ship with USB Mice aren't really necessary, and more often than not they cause more problems than they solve.
