Here is my finial entry the Sand Dune MK4

It has 153 parts a top speed of 21.5m/s and weighs about 7 tonnes. It is basically an upgrade of my last rover.

here is my "rover" no name quite yet, pretty sturdy. each wheel has it's own suspension

hotkeys -

1- basic boost

2- underhood mono engines to right the vehicle after flips -

0-drop landercanincludes built in car jacks for those inevitable flat tires. - (it's also amphibious - note the air intakes)

That's awesome! I'm currently working on a way to air-drop the Pillbug... initial tests look promising.

Getting it to the Mun is a bit cooler, though.

How does it handle in the low-gravity conditions? I haven't tested it out on the Mun, yet.

Sorry to double-post, but the video for the Pillbug-dropping plane is out.

Not bad, eh? Unfortunately, the added mass of the parachutes makes the Pillbug a little less happy than it otherwise would be. Still, though. Air-dropping rovers is fun.

Whenever I try something like this, I have trouble keeping the two craft within the de-spawn distance.

How does it handle in the low-gravity conditions? I haven't tested it out on the Mun, yet.

Obviously there's not much traction in 2-wheel drive mode, but lock in that 4X4 mode and I was happily scooting around at about 25-28 m/s

Ok I finished the first challenge. It wasn't that hard, i just strapped rockets on the sides (imagine a real world rocket scientist say that). Anyways here are the photos which show my departure, my arrival, and what happened in-between.

Wait. I'm all for entries into the competition (and aesthetics' craft looks like it's pretty nice) but I wish that everyone would post specs, like it says in the rules.

I'm not saying that he shouldn't be allowed into the competition. I'm just saying that while he posted his design reasonably close to the deadline, he still hasn't posted specs yet, which was one of the most important parts of the post.

Aesthetics, if you're reading this, could you please post the specs for this craft soon? That would probably be appreciated by Vagani, and it would certainly be appreciated by me. Thanks, and sorry to be a bother.

Hang on, i realised something...

Are the Events testing for stuff like crash tolerance and off road performance? If so, can I remove my original craft from the competition and enter a whole new one in its place?

Sure, and yes it will be stuff like that

The second event will probably be a Minmus Performance event, not sure which one, but it will be one.

Also, im pretty sure kerbals don't have to be in the vehicle that is getting to Minmus, could probably use this to spare weight.

I found that it does not work as well on Minimus but it had a good run on Duna.

Maybe they are still designing the best rocket to send their vehicles to Minmus?

And if my theory is correct, it would be beneficial for them to catch up quickly.

I think you would need to be more specific on the details...

How fast it goes before tipping/flipping over in a straight line on the runway, a straight line not on the runway, or a turn?

How much damage it can withstand after a crash into the VAB or a shot from a missile launcher?

If there is gonna be a challenge that is something like the latter, we would probably lose a point per part that is lost from the original part count, Top Gear style.
