[0.16 ish] The Truss Pack - Rugged parts for any eventuality! *2.0 NEARING RELEASE!*

I think it just corrupted my persistence file.

couple of lines from IRC i posted with console errors when loading rockets using mostly this pack.

nullreferenceexception: object reference not set to an instance of an object

everything on the stages view thing is like it\'s awaiting attachment to the rocket

if i try to grab parts of the rocket i get

Argumentoutofrangeexception: argument is out of range.

parameter name: index

also, controls are locked up, can\'t load another rocket, or go back to main menu, only X out of game

when attempting to launch (broken persistence file)

formatexception: unknown char: J

Also noticed when using struts symmetrically and placing them flush with the body of the rocket, some go further up the rocket. Some lower than i aimed for, some higher (By quite a large amount). Logically in my head that would seem like a problem with odd symmetry, but i\'ve not made anything for KSP so it\'s a wild guess.

I was just trouble shooting through the parts.

Placing saving loading placing saving loading

Thing is they only have the error when loading, can keep launching and going back to VAB all you want with it.

Ok, it\'s that actual part in the pack that\'s bugging out for me, just attached it underneath some of the big fuel sections, and it\'s done it again.

Here\'s your problem:

// --- general parameters ---

name = Truss Adaptor 1

NEVER put spaces in that field.

name = TrussAdaptor1

Would be an acceptable name.

a lot of them seem to have names like that, you sure that\'s a problem?

Not sure if this should go here... But I would just like to say that (besides C7\'s pack) this has got to be my favorite KSP pack on the interwebs!

On a related note: My first inter-planetary colony ship: Deep Space 1!!!

The problem with the 'Loaded ship missing parts' results in the TR01 - Radial tanks (cylinder ones)

So as long as I dont use those tanks, there are no problems.

Huh... maybe it\'s the dash.

Edit: actually, this would do it:

name = Truss/fuel 0.5m (radial)

Slashes are a no-no ;P

Right, changed all the part names. Now, it seems to have fixed the issue of save/load/persistence failure, but I imagine it would break ship construction saves. Nothing I can really do about that...

Anyway, the new .rar and .zip are up, v0.1.3

I love the pack, though I do have a couple of requests/suggestions:

- One or more decouplers would be nice to have (particularly linear)

- Could use a 0.5m fuel tank (other than the radially-mounted one)

- Non-fuel tank parts ought to have fuel crossfeed

Again, though, this pack has a really unique visual style that I really like, and I will probably make extensive use of it going forward.

I don\'t agree with this. Truss units don\'t by default have fuel pipes in them. I think there should be 2 types of truss, one with fuel pipes, one without. You should be able to use trusses to separate stages and isolate fuel tanks. This will be especially useful for very large long-duration craft down the road, especially if you have several different types of engines on the craft (i.e. you\'re using the start-stop plugin).
