Hello, and thank you all for maintaining this resource. It's been a great help to me over the last few days that I've had KSP.

My name is Chris. I lived in Florida in the 70s/80s, was at K(ennedy)SC on a school trip for Columbia's first launch, and have been obsessed with space ever since she re-arranged my organs from ten miles away.

In particular I'd like to say thanks to:

1) Scott Manley for the basic tutorials, (on YouTube) which took me over the initial ignorance bump. I can't be the first person to notice that a Scottish engineer called "Scott" is the perfect person to teach you how to fly a spacecraft. ;)

2) Whoever Starwhip is. Your deconstruction of boosters and stations is superb and helped me build on Scott's tutorials. By playing with your designs I've learned an enormous amount about the program and now have my interpretation of the Spirion on orbit around Kerbal and a smaller version around Mun.

3) I've lurked here a while so I know this is controversial, but thank you to whoever developed MechJeb. I do enjoy the manual stuff, but I really appreciate the automation of the yawn bits. It's also been a great teaching aid though; there's nothing better than learning by example.

I do have a few questions about on-orbit construction, but will put them in the appropriate sub-forums.

In the meantime, I wish you all the best.

Welcome to the forums!

Ah yes, Scott Manley. The beginning to most space programs. :D

Starwhip, I know him. I'll shoot him a PM so he can come here and be flattered. :)

Mechjeb. Controversial, yet handy. I too like to skip 10 minute launches every once in a while. (especially when building a station)

Have fun in space!

Well, then. Some kind of hello!

And if you do still have construction questions, feel free to ask! We're all ready and willing to help.

Welcome!

Ah, yes Scott is pretty cool Though I start out watching this guy

StarWhip... Hum I still remember when he was still young and fresh and spent alot of time in the forum game section. Now he's all grown up :P

MechJeb: Honestly I could not play this with out that mod.

Edit: I really should do something other then sit around and watch things explode shouldn't I...

A slight necropost here...

Thanks for looking in, Starwhip. I repped you but my browser freaked out.

Briansun: As I posted in another thread, I'm a builder and confirmed test-pilot with a real love of mad launchers and big space stations. But I can't sit in front of the PC for hours at a time. So although I know it's controversial, and I know it's "cheating", I make use of MechJeb because he deals with the bits I don't have time for.

I do have a stock science profile that I'm slowly building on when I have the time though.
