Planet Information Research Mod

Hi,

There may already be a mod out there that does this, but I havent found one.

How difficult do you think it would be to make a mod that does these things:

• Hides planets orbits from map mode
  
• Hides information about mass
  
• Hides information about atmosphere
  
• Hides their moons
  
• Is compatible with planet factory
  

Then add telescopes or other parts that allow you to research information about these planets to determine their orbits, and then sending a probe there would allow you to get other information like their mass, atmosphere, moons, etc.

Hopefully planet factory support would be a thing, because players already know many things about all the planets and moons.

Anyone know if this is a do-able mod?

Just saying, in real life we knew all these things about every planet all the way out to Neptune long before we even launched Sputnik into orbit. This kind of mod has been suggested many times, but is...... Unrealistic. Also, welcome to the forums!

Actually I'm not sure it's even possible to hide the stock UI... If it is, it would require a workaround. You may want to look into the configuration files first to see if you can find the planet details information, if you can't, chances are good that it won't be possible to do this.
