because people dont like their official partner.

They're not going to have two official mod repositories. Curse is the official repository for better or worse, it is great that there's a viable community alternative for those who dislike Curse. The official/unofficial status doesn't really matter anyway.

Have any squad devs shown support to this yet? it would be a nice boost(er) to be able to say its officially sanctioned.

There may never be official sanctioning because of the partnership with Curse, but they gave the OK to continue using Kerbal in the name and Rowsdower made a Modding Monday post for a mod that only hosts on Kerbal Stuff and Mediafire.
