Engines, Construction, Flight Controle, Beacons

Recommended Posts

This is my first post on KSP forums so I'd like to open with congratulations to Squad for creating a remarkable, fun, interesting, educational, and all around great game. I have sunk so much time into this game and still going strong. There is never a booring moment on Kerbin.

To buisness.

R.A.P.I.E.R. Engine

This engine is useless. It does not provide the listed air breathing thrust.

Its listed as providing 190 Air breathing but it only provides 95.

It barely has enough thrust to lift itself of the ground let alone a craft.

I have done a bunch of tests with it but the most relevant one i can show.

Please fix this cause the Rapier engine is amazing and I have a bunch of space planes grounded cause of this problem.

Construction parts.

The first problem I have with these parts is that all the parts are different lengths.

they dont square up when building stuff like I would expect them too.

Please standardize all the parts. so that girters and construction parts are the same length as fuselage bits.

Here is a Visual.

there lengths are different so I cant tie them off in a tidy simple manner. Metric and Standard do not mix.

Triangular Panel.

Runway Beacons.

A beacon centered with and at each end of the runway that I can set as target and have it on the nav ball allowing me to line up to the runway without visually seeing the runway.

This is not a big issue with small crafts like jets, but I am flying large Airliners like these.

As you can imagine they are not very manouverable and even less forgiving when mistakes are made. you typically get 1 shot at landing these so knowing where the runway is, is paramount.

SAS+Trim.

SAS often causes problems.

What I'm seeing is control inputs when SAS is on causes the control surfaces to reset to default before applying the input.

Its not even limited to the controle surface that will recieve the input but all of them.

Because of this when you just want to input a small adjustment it ends up being a big thing. I have lost many aircraft from a simple adjustment throwing the craft out of control. This effect from the SAS is most disruptive at higher speeds, Ironically it is at higher speeds that SAS is needed most, so its a damned if you do damned if you dont situation.

I would like to see SAS inputs applied to controle surfaced from there current position not there default position.

Trim.

I would like to see Trim and SAS intergrated.

It would be nice to have 3 Trim Memory banks.

1 for each of the 3 inprtant stages of flight. Takeoff, Cruise, landing.

I can set the trim values for each of them and have them load when I select them.

This would allow for trim data to be interchangable with SAS. I could upload my current controle surface data to a trim memory bank and disable SAS allowing smooth transition between SAS and trim flight.

these would make flight all around better especially when flying large aircraft like the ones above.

Thankyou
