Moving crane concept!

Recommended Posts

This is my concept for a ''moving'' crane.

It uses two parts, a frame and a ''engine''.

Angle the ramp so you get some control regarding elevation, then you can control position by driving it and with a downwards-facing Klaw, catch stuff. Install a mechanism to re-dock to survive timewarps, too.

Rune. You're onto something here.

radial decouplers are VERY flexible i'm sure you can make something decent out of them

It is possible!

I made some modifications to the frame and made a ''elevevator'' :D

EDIT 1: removed non-working link and added pictures instead.

Also using docking ports for pick and drop tasks.

I tried using a screw to control the height. It kind of worked, but It couldn't lift very much weight. The ramp is probably better. Also, reaction wheels worked better for controlling rotation than the powered wheels. You can also see a weird bug in this picture that caused the root part (structural fuselage) to be improperly scaled.
